VMware vSphere 4: Troubleshooting

Administradores de sistemas, Ingenieros en Sistemas, Personal de Help Desk que necesiten de los conocimientos, habilidades y capacidades para ejecutar troubleshooting avanzados en sus despliegues de vSphere.

• Usar el VMware vSphere Client y los comandos de la consola de servicio para configurar o diagnosticar y rectificar los problemas en ESX.
• Usar el vSphere Client y el Asistente de VMware vSphere Management (vMA), aplicado a configurar o diagnosticar y rectificar los problemas en los hosts ESX y ESXi.
• Usar el modo de soporte técnico para diagnosticar y rectificar los problemas en ESXi.
• Crear y usar un sniffer de redes para capturar y desplegar el tráfico de redes y switches virtuales
• Usar el vSphere Client y las herramientas command-line para poder hacer el troubleshoot en VMware VMotion™, VMware Storage VMotion, VMware High Availability, VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler, y los problemas de las máquinas virtuales encendidas.

Módulo 2 - ESXi Command-Line Troubleshooting Methods:

• Install and use the vMA
• Learn common vSphere Command-Line Interface commands and syntax
• Configure ESXi technical support mode and SSH access

Módulo 3 - ESX, ESXi, and vCenter Server Log Files:

• View ESX, ESXi, and vCenter Server log files
• Configure a centralized ESX/ESXi log host

Módulo 4 - Network Troubleshooting:

• Identify and configure vNetwork components
• Configure and use a network traffic sniffer

Módulo 5 - Management Troubleshooting:

• Troubleshoot vSphere management components

Módulo 6 - Storage Troubleshooting:

• View, configure, and diagnose storage access problems
• Configure iSCSI authentication and digests

Módulo 7 - vMotion Troubleshooting:

• Troubleshoot VMotion and Storage VMotion errors

Módulo 8 - VMware Infrastructure Troubleshooting:

• Troubleshoot DRS Cluster errors with shares, pools, and limits
• Troubleshoot HA Cluster errors with slot calculations, admission control, and host monitoring
• Review virtual machine power on requirements
• Troubleshoot virtual machine power on failures

Módulo 9 - vSphere 4 DRS Cluster Troubleshooting:

• Complete a final multihour, multiproblem troubleshooting exercise
